  • Other gyms charge $75 - $125 for personal training sessions (plus an additional monthly membership fee)


  • Work with a coach at Woodbury Barbell for $39 - $49 per session (and no additional monthly membership fee)


  • Schedule your training sessions on days and times that work for you.


  • Never wait for equipment again!  You'll have your own dedicated squat rack, bar, bench, and weights during your training sessions.


  • Your coach will teach you proper lifting technique for each exercise.  Breathing, balance, bracing your core, body positioning, and more.  We place a HUGE emphasis on safety and efficiency when lifting!


  • Each client gets a notebook to keep track of every exercise, every set, every rep, and the amount weight lifted. You'll start seeing progress on your lifts within the first week of training! 


  • *Please note*  Woodbury Barbell is a private training gym.  All "members" are coaching clients.  We do not offer open-gym type memberships at this time.

Actual Strength Training

  • No single arm, balancing on one leg, twisting, crawling on the floor, or jumping exercises.  You'll practice safe, functional exercises under a coach's supervision. 


  • Become stronger at the movements we do in our everyday lives:  
    • Sit down and stand up (Squat)
    • Lift something overhead (Press)
    • Pick something up (Deadlift)
    • Push something away (Bench Press)
    • Pull (Chin-Up or Pulldown)


  • About 80% of the training program consists of the 4 main barbell lifts mentioned above: the Squat, Press, Deadlift, and Bench Press.


  • Whether you're lifting 10 pounds or 200 pounds, you'll work with your coach to progressively and appropriately add weight to your lifts.  All lifts can be modified as necessary.


  • We are not training to become powerlifters or bodybuilders (unless that is your goal).  We are training to become stronger.  Strength makes everyday tasks easier, helps with fat loss and muscle gain, and improves our quality of life, particularly as we age.  Everyone, especially those of us in our 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond, can benefit from becoming stronger!
